Beauty Packager Quadpack amps up wooden packaging solutions with new collars
Quadpack is a multinational beauty packaging supplier, founded in 2003. And the company has been making wooden packaging, components, and accessories since 2013 when it acquired the Technotraf Wood Packaging factory.
Quadpack offers custom wooden components (when they are both technically and economically feasible); and uses 3D digital software to illustrate and demonstrate the custom designs before production, according to the company’s website.
Perhaps the most well-known of Quadpack’s wooden packaging solutions is the YouWood collection. It’s a selection of caps, lids, compacts and more—all made from ash wood. Most recently, the company added “a smart, cylindrical lipstick with a slick click closure” to the YouWood collection.
What’s new in wooden beauty packaging?
The new Quadpack wooden collars are meant to accompany spray bottles and bottles with disk-top caps. And while the company admits that “plastic [bottles and dispensing components] and wood [collars] may not seem like the most obvious partners. One is natural and has intrinsically sensorial appeal; the other is functional, versatile and all-purpose,” a single wood element brings a lot to the overall packaging design; and these collars do add an eco-chic sensibility to otherwise conventional packaging.
Quadpack’s wooden components are readily decorated, using screen printing, hot stamping, etc. Plus, “like all the caps, clasps and other components made by Quadpack Wood, the wood for the collar comes from sustainably-managed forests and is available in various tones, from natural pine to dark walnut.” And in terms of dimension, “the disc-top cap bottles and sprays come in sizes of 125ml and 200ml, with both transparent and white finishes,” according to the press release.
It’s also worth noting that the wood collar isn’t permanently fixed to other packaging components: “The cap and collar can be separated for optimal recycling.”
