CCL Container provides new solution for hair spray

US-based Conair corporation recently called on US packaging company CCL Container for a solution for its client, Sally Beauty, a leading professional beauty-supply company.

One of the company's newest products, Ion Color Solutions Color Defense Extra Control Shaping Hair Spray, has been added to its existing line of hair care products formulated for colour- treated hair. The product will launch in CCL's Comfort Hold aluminum aerosol canister.

Ed Martin, vice president of sales and marketing for CCL Container's Aerosol division said : "CCL​ had already developed Comfort Hold's problem-solving design, but we had to wait for the perfect customer "fit" to introduce it to our market.​

Besides being visually pleasing, the tall, 9.5 oz canister is tapered and rounded at the shoulder for an easy grip and better dispensing control. Comfort and ease-of-use are crucial to Sally Beauty's customer base of salon professionals and their clients."​

Tony D'Ascenzo, director of business development for Conair added :" Their new Comfort Hold aluminum can has easy-to-grasp benefits. It offers a unique and upscale appearance because of its svelt silhouette and the way it's rounded at the shoulder; regular steel cans offer only a straight contour."​

The construction canister is decorated with a soft-white pearlised base coat with matte over-varnish and overprinted with purple lettering and gray graphics. Tapered at the shoulder to conform to a more delicate grip, the neck cap snaps onto an outward curl. The canister starts out at 53 mm diameter and tapers up to a 45 mm diameter, allowing for a more economical 45 mm cap.

Ion Color Defense is currently being stocked at Sally outlets and product launch is imminent on the US market.
