Cosmetics Design to talk luxury wellness packaging at Luxe Pack New York
Wellness itself has become a luxury commodity. And beauty-from-within has an established place in the cosmetics and personal care industry. These market realities help explain the rise of wellness as a category that comprises a subset of products from skin care, sun care, hair care, body care, and fragrance, as well as sleep care, mindful beauty, cannabis beauty, and more—which is what inspired Cosmetics Design to develop a panel session for this year’s Luxe Pack New York event titled, Bottled Beauty: designing luxury wellness packaging for niche brands.
Category defining
The panel discussion, set for Wednesday 15 May at 12noon will feature:
- Renee Tavoularis & Lynne Florio, Co-Founders of WELL WITHIN, a holistic lifestyle and skin care brand
- Aba Gyepi-Garbrah, Founder, Aba Love Apothecary, a skin care brand with aromatherapy benefits
- Tina Hedges, CEO, LOLI Beauty, a zero-waste skin care brand making products with food-grade organic ingredients
- Lauren Golik, Art Director at Bartlett Brands, a boutique agency that helps clients with strategy, branding, marketing, and of course design
Cosmetics Design editor Deanna Utroske will moderate the session and share a few of her own insights and observations on luxury wellness packaging. The session promises to illustrate why “the sensibility of wellness calls for a fresh approach to both primary and secondary packaging….[And,] how innovative niche brands are designing luxury packaging for today’s wellness products that resonates with consumers and fits neatly into the luxury retail experience,” according to the Luxe Pack site.
Conferences and more
Luxe Pack is a 2-day creative packaging event for not only beauty and fragrance makers but also for, the wine and spirits, wellness, and fine foods industries.
Luxe Pack New York will take place Wednesday May 15 and Thursday May 16 at the Javits Center in New York City. And conference programing will also include talks on The Role of Color in Luxury Packaging, Experiential Packaging, Sustainable Packaging, and more.
While the event is moving to Javits for 2019, not much else is changing. The show will be very similar in size and scope to the 2018 edition, according to the Luxe Pack site: “There will not be significant exhibitor growth due to the move. LUXE PACK plans to have the same amount of companies that exhibited this year (2018) and maintain the quality that has always been the show’s core value.”
So visitors can expect to see just under 250 packaging suppliers exhibiting at the show and to be in the company of some 3,500 other attendees. Learn more about Luxe Pack New York 2019 here.
