Israeli lipid-based ingredients company Enzymotec has come up with a new cosmetic line based on its ingredient MultOil, to fight wrinkles and moisturise the skin .

Trials on MultOil that investigated its bio-physical properties suggest that the product could induce collagen stimulation and active wrinkles reduction, Enzymotec reports.

The studies also suggested that the product has a 'powerful anti-inflammatory effect on sensitive and damaged skin together with excellent moisturising and softening properties,' said the company.

" Our concept line is enriched by a high concentration of a novel, natural and nutra-cosmetic ingredient that can fight diverse cosmetics problems," said Ariel Katz, CEO at Enzymotec.

According to the company, due to present its cosmetics prototypes at the Natural Personal-Care Cosmeceuticals conference in Miami in mid-November, MultOil represents a generic technology which can enhance any natural oil, such as sesame, olive or avocado.

"We were able to develop an anti-aging, castor-free lipstick. Moreover, in terms of sensorial tests, our lipstick has shown to have strong yet soft texture. The prototype creams exhibit excellent sensorial qualities that match existing brands in the market," added Katz.

Future steps from the young Israeli company in the realm of cosmetics will include products such as eye cream, lotions and face masks.

Products from Enzymotec - that also supplies the nutraceutical and pharmaceutical industries - are all based on its AMIET technology, which modifies natural raw materials through a specific enzymatic process. The basic products are based on three main groups - phospholipids, triglycerides, and sterol esters.
