Two of Europe's largest personal care distribution companies have completed agreements with Kemin Personal Care to market its FloraGLO brand lutein to cosmetics manufacturers in Italy and the United Kingdom.
B.H. Schilling and Cornelius will represent Kemin Personal Care, a division of Kemin Foods, global manufacturer of natural antioxidants for the food, dietary supplement and personal care markets, to companies that want to include lutein in products for personal care applications.
Kemin says its FloraGLO brand lutein, a purified, patent-protected form of lutein, has been globally recognised for some years now among vitamin and supplement companies and eye doctors for its important eye health benefits.
Research indicates that consumption of lutein, found naturally in dark green, leafy vegetables such as spinach and kale, may also protect the skin against some of the damaging effects of the sun. It has also been shown to protect skin against photo-oxidative stress induced by UV-A or UV-B radiation from sunlight.
"Awareness of the value of FloraGLO Lutein as an all-natural, bio-active antioxidant has been building internationally," said Greg Thornton, sales manager for Kemin Personal Care. "The successful launch of FloraGLO Lutein in the US personal care market and the growing global acceptance of lutein have created a great opportunity to introduce this product to the European cosmetic and personal care industry."
Headquartered in Milan with an office in Bologna, B.H. Schilling has more than 60 years of experience in speciality chemical distribution.
The Cornelius Produce Company provides health and personal care manufacturers with raw materials. It is part of the privately owned Cornelius Group of companies and claims to be one of the largest distributors of speciality chemicals and raw materials supplying the UK & Irish markets.
