Canada's Omega Biotech, maker of the Protovin grape seed antioxidant, has introduced its first cosmeceutical product this month. The anti-ageing cream is said to firm and brighten the skin and can also repair damage.
The private Victoria-based company says that its product is innovative among the typical offering for skincare formulas, which usually relies on a narrow spectrum of ingredients such as vitamin D, E, or Alpha-Hydroxy. Omega Biotech claims these represent only the early stages of development of complete antioxidant protection and dermal restoration.
The new formula contains around 35 active ingredients including firming agents, rich emollients, essential oils and purified herbal extracts. The combination of water-soluble and lipid soluble ingredients also ensures rapid delivery of powerful antioxidants and anti-inflammatory products deep into the skin, says Omega Biotech, which can lead to observable beneficial skin changes within days, it claims.
Established to manufacture the food supplement Protovin, a bulk grape seed extract antioxidant powder, Omega Biotech also recently launched Astringency Reduced Protovin BQ, appropriate for a wide variety of applications including wines, foods, functional-foods, beverages and cosmeceuticals.
